We, Keio English Speaking Society, would like you to understand our intention to hold the Annual Japan Intercollegiate English Oratorical Contest for the Fukuzawa Trophy, and to support us.

To support the talent of people who will be active in the international society, we have held a contest where students can express their opinions in English.More than 1 century has passed since Fukuzawa Yukichi,the foundation of Keio University, insisted on the importance of “speech” which gives us the opportunity to express our own opinions in the international society. Now in 21st century, with the development of many variations in technology, individuals have more opportunities and ways to express their own opinions.As we see in the present scene, we are positive that it is very significant to encourage people who can express their own opinions effectively and make the most of them in international societies. We cannot be more glad when we have achieved our purpose.
